Description
Slow-cooked pork pierogi (varenyky) are hearty Ukrainian dumplings with a rich, savory filling and delicate dough. The stuffing is made from deveined boiled pork of the highest grade and fried bulb onion, lightly seasoned with salt and ground black pepper. This gives a deep meat flavour and classic home-style aroma in every bite.
The dough from premium wheat flour and water stays soft and elastic after boiling, wrapping the meat filling in a thin, tender shell. Serve meat pierogy as a main course for lunch or dinner – they are especially delicious with butter, sour cream or fried onions, and pair well with fresh salads, pickles or light soups.
Simply cook the frozen pierogi in salted boiling water for 5–7 minutes, then drain and dress to taste – a quick way to enjoy traditional meat dumplings without long preparation.
